Nasi Goreng

Craving for some rice? Let us tell you a special fried rice in Indonesia called nasi goreng. Nasi goreng is a fried rice  that combine with egg, chicken, prawns, vegetables.

Unlike another fried rice, Indonesian often put some spices and ketchup in ingredients which makes it more delicious, aromatic and smoky flavor. Nasi Uduk

This is another type of rice in Indonesia. It is a steamed rice cooked in coconut milk originally from Betawi, Jakarta. Nasi Uduk means “mixed rice” because it describes the rice is cooked with so many ingredients like coconut milk, clove, lemongrass, cinnamon, and pandan leaf).

After nasi uduk is ready, it can be added by few side dishes like tempe orek (stir fried temoe with soy sauce), telur ceplok (fried egg) or telur dadar (omelette), bihun goreng (fried rice vermicelli), tumis buncis (stir fried common beans),  ayam goreng (fried chicken), gorengan (fritters), kerupuk (crackers), and sambal. Sate

Sate or Satay was included in CNN World’s 50 best food in 2017. It is a seasoned grilled chopped meat served with a sauce. Usually it chopes in diced or sliced. You can make sliced chicken, goat, mutton, pork, beef,or clam.

There are three types of Satay in Indonesia based on its sauce: Sate Madura (Served with peanut sauce- sweet type), Sate Padang (Served with padang sauce- spicy type), and Sate Kecap (Served with sauce made by chili,tomato,shallot mix with ketchup- sweet spicy-type). It can be served with rice or ketupat, based on  your choice. This is a perfect match if you feel super hungry because it contains lots of carbo.

Pempek

Pempek originally invented in Palembang. It is a savoury fish cake made of fish and sago flour. Ikan gabus (snakehead) or ikan tenggiri (wahoo) are the common main fish ingredient to make this dish.  It served with sauce called kuah cuko (vinegar).

Kuah cuko is produced by adding chili pepper, garlic, palm sugar, vinegar, and salt. Since Indonesian loves spices, kuah cuko tends to have spicy taste. Indomie

Have you heard this food before? Well actually this is not an traditional food but an instant noodle which quite famous in Indonesia and abroad. This instant noodle rich in taste and the has good noodle texture. The most popular flavor is Indomie Mi goreng, Indomie soto ayam, Indomie ayam bawang, and Indomie Kari ayam.

Just cook this instant noodle on boiling water for 3-5 minutes and put the seasoning after you have dried it. Voila, this tasty instant noodle is ready to served.
