Today we’re gonna learn something more practical about Bahasa Indonesia which is basic daily conversation in public spot in Bahasa Indonesia. We will take practical example from several places that you will often come to during your time in Indonesia. We would like start from basic conversation at the hotel, basic conversation at restaurant, basic conversation at train station.
Basic Conversation at the Hotel
A: Saya mau check in atas nama Billy. (I want to check in with name Billy)
B: Udah booking online sebelumnya? (Do you book by online booking?)
A: Iya, saya booking pakai online booking (yes, I have book through an online booking)
B: Boleh lihat bukti bookingnya? (Can I see the booking receipt?)
A: Boleh, Ini bukti bookingnya. (Sure, this is the booking receipt)
B: Ok. Sudah dibayar ya melalui transfer. (Ok. It’s paid by transfer.)
A: Iya, Benar. (Yes, Right)
B: Mau kamar yang smoking atau non-smoking? (Do you want the smoking or non smoking room, sir?)
A: Saya pilih yang non-smoking. (I choose the non-smoking room)
B: Baiklah, kamar nomor 614. Ini kuncinya. Terima kasih. Selamat beristirahat. (Allright. Room number 614. This is the room key. Thank you. Have a good rest.)

Basic Conversation at the Restaurant
A: Selamat datang, meja untuk berapa orang? (Welcome sir, table for how many people?)
B: Meja untuk 4 orang (Table for 4 people,please)
A: Baik, mari saya antar. Disini meja untuk 4 orang. Silakan. (Allright, let me show you the table. Here is it, table for 4 people sir. Please.)
B: Terima kasih. Saya mau lihat menunya. (Thank you. I want to check the menu)
A: Sebentar saya ambilkan. Ini menunya pak. (A second please sir, here is our menu)
B: Apa makanan pembuka yang enak disini? (What is recommended appetizers in this restaurant?)
A: Bapak bisa coba gado gado kampung kami sebagai makanan pembuka khas restoran kami pak. (You can try our gado gado kampung as our signature appetizers, sir)
B: Baik, saya pesan untuk 4 porsi. Untuk makanan utama, bisa kamu jelaskan apa itu nasi liwet ayam kecombrang? (Allright, I order for 4 portion. As for the main menu, can you tell me what is Nasi Liwet Ayam Kecombrang?)
A: Nasi Liwet adalah nasi yang dimasak dengan santan, kaldu ayam serta rempah rempah pilihan. Ayam kecombrang adalah Ayam dengan bumbu bunga kecombrang, atau dikenal dengan red-ginger lily dengan tambahan rempah-rempah lainnya. (Nasi liwet is succulent rice dish cooked in coconut milk, chicken broth and spices. Ayam Kecombrang is boiled chicken mixed with Kecombrang Flower or well known as Red-Ginger Lily Flower with other spices.)

B: Ok. Saya pesan itu juga 4 porsi. Untuk makanan penutup saya pesan Es Cendol Dawet Ayu. (Ok. I order that menu for 4 portion. As for the desert, I order Es Cendol Dawet Ayu)
